Evan's class was toward the end, and they sang loud and well. It was fun to hear Evan learning to sing songs in the weeks before the program. In fact, I didn't realize he was learning songs to sing for the program, but heard him one day at home singing "Here comes Santa Claus", which was one of his classroom's songs. After all of the singing, there was a visit by Santa Claus and Evan was pretty much first in line to see him. The program had said the youngest classes would get to see Santa first and then they'd announce when it was time for older classes to come up. However, as soon as Evan saw Santa arrive he walked over to him and followed him closely until he sat down, basically so that he was first in line! No one told him otherwise (even though I was trying to), so he got to see him straight away, and John brought Emma up to sit with them too. In fact, I never heard them announce an order for Santa visits after that, so who knows if they gave up on that or what. Either way, there were lots of cookies and treats to be had afterward and even some crafts, though my kids were not into the latter of course. They preferred to run around the middle school that hosted this event and explore. Once Evan found an elevator, that was the highlight of his day taking rides up and down. The kids had so much fun they didn't want to leave. I felt that it (everything after the formal singing program) was a bit too chaotic for my liking...think lots and lots of preschool age kids running around, but I'm glad the kids enjoyed it.
