Evan's 3rd Birthday Party: The party

Evan was so excited when he woke up and saw all the balloons and some of the party decor set out on the table already.  He said "It's a party train!!" (in reference to the food serving train that was already set out) and he loved the hanging planes mobile.  We let him open one special present right before his party.

So excited for his party to start!

So excited to open his pre-party present from mommy and daddy!

It's Dusty!

Taking Dusty for his first spin around the house, while Emma enjoyed ripping the wrapping paper!

When the guests arrived we headed outside to have a morning snack.  Then after the little bellies were full, they headed into the backyard to play.  We made paper airplanes for them to fly, they had their glider "favors" to fly, and we also made big bubbles as well.

Fun with his paper airplane

The kids were having so much fun playing in the yard, but it was soon time to have cake before guests had to leave.  Evan sat at the table surrounded by his friends and family as we all sang "Happy Birthday" to him.  He had this coy smile on his face the whole time.  Perhaps is was all the attention, or it was possibly his building excitement that he was soon about to get to blow out his candle.  He really loves blowing out the candles and does it well.  In fact, as the song was coming to an end, he got up closer to the cake all on his own (without any prompting) and blew out his candle in one big puff!  He definitely knew that was the finale to the birthday song!

Enjoying his birthday cake!

After cake he opened his presents.  He also clearly has opening presents down pat…and he had some help from a few of his guests (who must also really like presents!).  And of course, Emma loved all the wrapping paper.  At the end of the party we got a few photos of us with Evan (and some with Emma) too.  What a fun day…he definitely had a blast!

Evan with all of his gifts!
We snuck Emma into a photo too… :)

A very proud mommy and daddy with our three-year-old!
