Evan videos: Singing, dancing, and the hole in sock obsession

Lately we've gotten some great videos of Evan doing the cutest and funniest things.

Singing

Let's start with him singing to his new baby sister ("Give me a home among the gum trees"), which of course he doesn't finish the song for us on video, but at least we got some of it.   The funnier part is that in the video is tells Emma to sing too.  And then he shows off his bossy side by telling me to go back and sit down, however after he does that he decides he wants to sit on my chair instead (so the end is a glimpse of his whiny tantrums when he thinks he's not going to get something he wants).

Dancing

Then let's also showcase his latest dance moves.  The running in circles dance is pretty much his routine, but this past week he also started showing off some other moves that he would do on request (sometimes).  At least this video captured most of them: "flashdance", "Rocky", and "penguin" ("flashdance" being my favorite, and that used to be his move where he ran in place, but now is more of a cute shoulder movement ditty).  His other signature move, which is not featured in this video, is still the "eagle".  John captured him doing this pose way back on a day at the library story time, and he still does it (as well as he know actually calls it "eagle" and sometimes says "eagle" while doing it).  The funniest part about this move is that just this past weekend there was a Green Bay Packers football player that ran a touchdown and essentially stole Evan's eagle move for his touchdown dance.  It's catching on! :)

The hole in the sock obsession?

Yes, it's an obsession of his now, just like any other thing that kind of freaked him out once, he becomes obsessed with it until he either accepts it or gets used to it as being okay.  One day he was standing up on the couch (a no no) and while he was leaning on the back of the couch at an angle, his big toe went through a small hole in one of his socks, making the hole much bigger, but also perhaps bending his toenail backward or something painful.  I presume it was something painful because he immediately started crying and I didn't know what was wrong at first.  Then he pointed to his toe and I saw the hole.  I took the sock off and told him I'd get rid of it, but the obsession had already begun.  He started telling me his other socks had holes in them, even though they did not.  He started not wanting socks put on his feet at all, even at night time, which meant his little piggies got awfully cold on a few nights.  And he started becoming obsessed with our socks too, saying they had holes in them or looking to see if they did.  Low and behold, one day soon after Emma was born, I put on an old pair of socks that unbeknownst to me had holes in them!  This video captures the last bit of his rant about seeing the holes in my socks (prior to thinking about videoing this he just kept telling me and John over and over that my socks had holes in them), and it also captures how he can get distracted with something else (i.e. Emma in this case) and then go right back to his obsessive rant.  It also ends with him being super cute...I won't spoil it though, you'll have to see it for yourself.
