Dribble the ball

Two weeks ago (my how time flies!) we attended a birthday party for a little boy we know who was turning two.  The birthday party was held at an indoor soccer (futsal) arena, where this boy had been attending some soccer activity lessons and been enjoying it a lot.  Given Evan's obsession with soccer balls, we figured he'd also enjoy this quite a bit, and we were right!

Evan first spent time running around the field, grabbing the soccer balls, carrying them around, and then throwing them.  Then he found some orange cones that he sat down and stacked.  Then he moved on to the pool noodles, which he carried around and played with.  Then more soccer balls.  He didn't really partake in any of the organized party games/activities, but given his age and the wide open space of the arena, no one seemed to mind.  At one point (luckily while John was filming!), he started moving the ball down the field sans hands, only by "dribbling" it with his feet.  (Well, he may have tried to pick it up once...).  He even scored his first goal!  We might very well have a little budding soccer star on our hands.

The birthday boy is on the left in this photo, seemingly trying to entice Evan to play with him.  However, Evan was in his own world on this day.

So cute, lugging around that huge pool noodle! From the photos I've seen, that looks like it was a fun party!
