After getting back from Colorado Springs, we had about a week to hang out, pass the time, and get things ready for Christmas. We dipped pretzels, went on a day trip to Boulder, and decorated cookies for Santa, among other things (like shopping!).
Dipping pretzels...
On our day trip to Boulder, we first went to Chautauqua Park to take a short walk/hike by the flat irons. The weather forecast called for a nice and mild day, and it was...until we got up against the foothills at Chautauqua. There it was WINDY! Emma was not a fan, though none of us really were. So instead of a walk, we just walked to a point to take some nice pictures and then we went to the visitor center, which was indoors. After that we went down to Pearl Street and looked in a few shops before heading over to the Tea House for lunch. Our meals were divine!
Emma wanted a photo with me, and then Evan followed suit

On Christmas Eve, we baked cookies and decorated them for Santa. The kids were really generous with the sprinkles, especially Emma! Her cookies usually had thick piles of sprinkles on them. I managed to convince her to not go too crazy on the sprinkles for her cookie for Santa. Evan, however, spent a LOT of time on his cookie for Santa. He kept adding different sprinkles and perfecting it however it felt like. It was pretty coated with sprinkles by the time he was done.

For Christmas Eve dinner, we had roast lamb with roasted veggies, some turkey breast, cranberry sauce, homemade mac n cheese, and lots of other goodies. After dinner, the kids got to open one present each, and then we hung up the stockings and set out the cookies and milk for Santa. Evan also wanted to give Santa a paper snowflake he'd made. We were ready for Christmas Day to be here! Run along to bed little ones!
From crazy to serious and back again...life taking photos with children :)
Ready for Santa to come!
