Our first family of four photos

A few weeks ago, my photographer friend Jessica took some family photos for us.  Emma was 7 weeks old already, yet this was the first time we'd gotten pictures of Evan and Emma together.  This was also the first time we'd gotten photos of us as a family of four, which also meant it was the first time we had photos taken of us with an infant and a toddler to try to get looking nice in the photos!  Emma did great.  She was awake the whole time and even looked at the camera a few times!

Evan, on the other hand, was a bit more of a challenge.  He was too excited to play in the leaves to sit still very long in any given pose, and toward the end was just completely done with even trying to sit still or look at Jessica at all.  The one way we got him to look at the camera for awhile was that she would hold up her camera lens cover and say "Evan, what's this?".  He thought it was a cookie, haha!  Then we started saying, "Evan, look at Jessica...she has a cookie!" and "Look at Jessica and you can have a cookie!"  That was a bit naughty of us I suppose, but hey we took him to Starbucks afterward and got him a cookie and a little cup of whipped cream with caramel sauce.  

Anyway, Jessica got some great shots...especially of Evan, and Emma too.  Here are some of my favorites:
