Perhaps Evan did not intend to say ergo, meaning therefore or hence, but instead he said Ergo meaning he wants an Ergo brand baby carrier? This is indeed the style of carrier that I've heard rave reviews about that is much more ergonomic (thus the name Ergo) for your back, compared to the Baby Bjorn (which is what we have) that puts all the weight on your shoulders. The thing about the Ergo carrier is that it is not cheap and thus we have not yet invested in such a pricey item. We got our Baby Bjorn used (for only $5!), so we figured we'd try that out with Evan first to see if he even liked being in a carrier. Nonetheless, as he gets heavier, and if we want to go on long strolls, hikes, or outings with him in a carrier, we may need an Ergo eventually.
Besides saying his first "real" word, regardless of the meaning behind it, Evan has had a really good day so far. He let me take him for a walk on this cool, but sunny, fall day and he didn't cry at all. He even fell asleep and is still peacefully sleeping in his car seat, which then allowed me to make, and eat, something for lunch (yippee!) and even write this post. What a blessing...it really is the small things that make life grand! And by that I not only mean being able to make my lunch and eat it too, but the blessing of having a cute, tiny bundle of joy to spend my days with!
See, he really is still sleeping in his car seat. :)
