Evan got bumped up to a twin size bed when he was only 2 1/2 years old, because Emma needed the crib. Therefore, he only slept in the crib as a toddler bed for a short period of time. However, Emma has been sleeping her toddler bed for the last year and was nearly starting to outgrow it. However, she'd also started a habit of sleeping in our bed pretty much every night for the past 3-4 months. She'd come in middle of the night, and climb in sometimes without us waking up. Once we upgraded to a king size bed in December, it wasn't as tough on us, but we kept encouraging her to sleep all night in her bed so she could then get a big girl bed. She would do well and sleep all night a few nights in a row here and there in February and March, but it wasn't until late March that we finally made the change. And the good news is that she's been sleeping really well in her new bed. She has been sleeping all night in her own bed, and even sleeping in later now too sometimes. She's pretty proud of it and loves her new bed and bedding that we got to go with it. She also got a new stuffed toy at the furniture store (a tiger) that she calls Sophelia (think of a mix between Sophia and Ophelia). Here are some photos of the change. Since these photos, we got her new sheets that match her bedding a bit more (pink, purple, and teal colors in a zig zag pattern), and she loves them too. She gets so excited and smiles and squeals about it all. She's at such a cute age!
Saying goodbye to Emma's toddler bed/crib and old dresser (this dresser was mine as a kid!)
This big girl needs a bigger bed!
Wow, her room looks so big without a bed there!
