Snow days

Up until about a week ago, I could have said our winter was pretty much snow-less.  However, now that we are in late February, we've started to finally get some good snowfalls.

This past Thursday was the first good one.  We got at least a few inches of the white stuff and so we decided to let Evan out to play in it for his first time.

We bundled him up good and proper, like any toddler should be to venture out into the cold and wet snow...you know, like a little blue marshmallow!

At least we got a chance to use the snow pants and snow boots we had bought for him!

I can't quite say he really "played" in the snow, or even enjoyed the snow itself.  However, he sure enjoyed playing outside.  Running up and down the driveway, and around the sidewalk.  When he did go into the yard where the snow really was, he either trotted straight through it to the sidewalk, or else sometimes tool a little fall in it.  The first time he fell he pretty much face planted into the cold stuff and didn't care for that one bit.

Today, as I write this, it's nearly a blizzard outside.  I have a feeling we're going to get more than just a few inches this time.  Once it subsides, we might get a chance to take Evan out again and we'll see if he pays a bit more attention to the snow this time.  Maybe if it were wetter we could make snow balls and a snowman and he could really start to see the fun in it.

The view outside today...
