More please!

Evan is always learning more and more new things each week. And this past week he showed us that he's finally learned how to sign the word "more" to us during his meals!  We started doing some signs with him, mostly at meal time, when he was about 6 months old, so it's taken him two months to get this far.  But I find it amazing that even at this young age he's sorted this out and is putting his new form of communication to use!

I found it extremely cute that when he first started doing this sign regularly he really put a lot of effort, and strength, into putting his hands together (almost grunting or straining as he pressed them together).   He learned very quickly he was doing something good because of my big reaction to him doing it.  His precious facial expressions (grin and nose scrunches) when he signs "more" certainly are adding the word "please" to the end!

Evan is also doing another cute new thing this week.  He's started holding his blanket up to his face and ever so gently letting it slide across his nose and cheeks before nap time.  He must like the soft and tickley feel of it as he drags it back and forth.

And in the spirit of the theme of this post, I will post some more recent photos.  These are just to showcase how he's become quite the competent sitter (though we still like to put the Boppy around him if we can't be there to catch a fall) and he's also still building his crawling skills--he's up on his hands and knees more and more these days!
