A visit to the Ginger Factory for a train and boat ride

During our previous trip to Australia, we went to the Ginger Factory so that Evan could ride the train given his interest in trains.  At that time, Emma as just a wee (but chubby) baby, and it was so sweltering hot and humid.  This time we wanted to visit again so that Emma could experience more of it, as well as for Evan to enjoy the rides again too.  And it was so much more comfortable visiting on a late summer/early autumn day.  

The kids both enjoyed the playground (as Evan had the time before) and then we rode the train.  After the train ride we walked through the rainforest walk and headed over to the boat ride.  It still reminds me of "It's a small world" from Disneyland.  Both kids loved it.  We had a bite to eat after that...and Nanna bought the kids t-shirts with Moreton, the Ginger Factory train, on them.  Evan loves it and wants to wear it nearly every day.  Sadly the weather back home lately has been too cool for t-shirts, so he'll have to wait a bit to get much more wear out of it, but it's definitely one of his favs right now.

On our way to the boat ride we had to stop and try to recreate a photo we took two years before...Emma being out of the stroller is really the biggest change, but Evan didn't hug the gingerbread man this time...rather Emma snuggled in under him.

On the boat the kids rode in the front row and the grown ups (me, John, and Janine only) rode behind them.  So I didn't always get to see the looks on their faces while they took in the sights...however a few times they'd turn around to point out something cool they saw.  I think the photo I snagged of Evan doing this was when he saw the big snake in the "Amazon" region...but I don't recall for sure.
