Mudjimba Beach
Our first visit to the beach was right at the beginning of our trip to Mudjimba park and beach. This is the same beach we went to on our first beach visit on our last trip, and just like that first view of the ocean on the last trip, Evan was once again giddy with excitement over seeing the ocean. Being a few years older, he was able to enjoy the ocean itself a lot more. He had such a ball playing "tag" with the waves. Emma was less interested in the water, given the waves made her unsteady on her feet and she didn't like that. Instead, she thoroughly enjoyed playing in the sand. We hadn't dressed them in their togs because we hadn't planned on water play, but we couldn't help but let Evan have a ball. At least I think we had a change of dry clothes... :)

Setting their sights on the ocean for the first time this trip (Emma's poor hat kept blowing off, so we made sure to bring one with a chin strap for next time!)
Heading closer to the water
Play time!
He sure loves that ocean!
First beach sand play!
What a fun day for everyone!
King's Beach
We went to the beach again the next day with more family. This time we went to King's Beach in Caloundra. It had a water play feature, and lovely shaded overhangs over the sand to keep us out of the sun. Evan and Nanna enjoyed the waves, while Emma and Eva played in the sand. After beach time, we grabbed lunch at the local tavern. It was a great day, especially because Grampy was there to enjoy it with us too.
More on the rest of our beach explorations in the next post...
